Gaura lindheimeri

Other cultivars/species:
G. lindheimeri ‘Siskiyou Pink’ has beautiful pink to red flowers, and G. lindheimeri ‘Corrie’s Gold’ has variegated yellow and green foliage with white flowers.

Extra notes and interesting information:

The seed-bearing spikes don’t tend to be very noticeable, but they should still be cut in order to prevent self-sowing.
One of the few long-blooming perennials from the Southwest, and grows well in the Northwest.  Will often thrive in poor soil and other difficult growing situations.
Can be cut back before flowering to produce a more compact plant with more flowers.
Uncut plants have their own beauty as they gracefully arch.
Can be short-lived.
