Extra notes and
interesting information:
The
seed-bearing spikes don’t tend to be very noticeable, but they
should still be cut in order to prevent self-sowing.
One
of the few long-blooming perennials from the Southwest, and
grows well in the Northwest. Will often thrive in poor soil and
other difficult growing situations.
Can
be cut back before flowering to produce a more compact plant
with more flowers.
Uncut
plants have their own beauty as they gracefully arch.
Can
be short-lived.
